On May 21, Zhou Daya, vice president of the NAIS, met with a delegation of SAGE Publishing led by Asia Pacific president Rosalia da Garcia and Greater China manager He Fangfang. Other attendees at the meeting include personnel of the editorial office of Cultures of Science.

Zhou briefed on the NAIS and, as deputy chief editor of Cultures of Science, introduced the background and research areas of the journal. He said that Cultures of Science is currently the only English language journal dedicated to scientific culture in China, which provides a platform of academic exchange for Chinese and international scholars in related fields. He added that the NAIS wishes to strengthen the journal’s international reputation and academic influence through cooperation with SAGE. Garcia expressed thanks for the enthusiastic reception given by the NAIS. She briefed on the history of SAGE Publishing and its current presence in the Asia Pacific region and shared her outlook on how the two sides could join hands to promote the development of Cultures of Science. At the meeting, Liu Xuan introduced the publishing plan of Cultures of Science in 2019-2020 and its future development goals. He Fangfang introduced the scope of SAGE Publishing’s journal business and its other publishing products in the Chinese mainland.

The meeting briefed the two sides on their respective business and development status and laid a solid foundation for subsequent official cooperation.
