This article presents an overview of development directions in the field of brain-like computing and the global distribution of its top talent over the past 10 years. It does so by means of a scientometic analysis of data on high-citation papers in the field. The article reveals a big gap between China and advanced countries in this field. In terms of top talent, the total number of international experts in this field is 22.5 times greater than the number of Chinese experts, indicating a serious human resource shortage in the field in China. The global distribution of such talent is primarily Japan and countries in the West, including the United States, Germany, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and France.
